Feeling of fullness or pressure in the ear

We offer a professional ear wax removal service, performing safe and effective removal techniques, including:

1. Microsuction: This involves using a gentle suction device to remove ear wax with the assistance of an ear camera (endoscope). It’s a precise and minimally invasive method that allows for clear visualisation of the ear canal during ear wax removal.
2. Irrigation: Also known as ear syringing, this technique involves gently flushing the ear canal with warm water to dislodge and remove ear wax.
3. Manual Ear Wax Removal: We can use specialised tools to manually extract ear wax. This method may be preferred for certain individuals or in cases where other techniques are not suitable.
4. We may use a combination of these techniques based on your medical history and the condition of your ears.

Preparing for your appointment: Prior to your ear wax removal appointment, please apply medical grade olive oil into your ears twice a day for three days. This helps to soften the ear wax, helping its removal during the procedure. Please refrain from inserting any objects (e.g. cotton buds) into your ears as it may cause damage and make the wax harder to remove. This is available to buy from us in clinic, should you need it.

Aftercare: Following your ear wax removal session, our clinician will provide you with personalised aftercare advice based on the techniques used during the treatment.

Treatment Cost and Consultation: Our ear wax removal service costs £75. This includes ear consultation and examination. Ear consultations only are £30 (usually if no wax present to remove)

We offer three main methods for ear wax removal: microsuction, ear irrigation (also known as ear syringing), and manual removal using specialised tools. These methods are safe, effective, and will be tailored to your individual needs.

Microsuction is the process of removing wax from the ear using a small suction tube. At our clinic we also use a specialised camera which is inserted into the ear to make it easier to see what we are doing, and reduce the risk of injury. It’s a precise method that allows for clear visualisation of the ear canal during the procedure.

Ear irrigation, also known as ear syringing, involves gently flushing the ear canal with warm water using a specialised irrigator pump to remove ear wax. This method is effective for softening and removing stubborn wax buildup.

Prior to your appointment, we ask you to apply medical grade olive oil into your ears twice a day for three days. This helps soften the ear wax, making it easier to remove during the procedure. Please avoid inserting any objects, such as cotton buds, into your ears, as this often causes a deeper blockage or damage to your ears.
